Sort the splits before the song comes out.

Splits are easy while everyone is in the room and impossible once there is money involved. Set them here, see whether they add up, and see what each person's share is actually worth.

Splits

Not sure of the rate? The streaming calculator shows you how to get your real one off a distributor statement.

Do this before the song is out, not after

A split nobody wrote down is a split everybody remembers differently. While the song is unreleased it costs one message to agree; once there is money on it, the same conversation costs a friendship, and sometimes a lawyer.

Write it down, get everyone to confirm it in a message or an email, and keep that somewhere you can find it. A screenshot of an agreement is worth more than a perfect memory of one.

Where the beat sits in this

On Full Monetization — buy 1 beat, get 9 free. $129.95 — you keep 100% of your royalties, so the producer is not a line on your split sheet. Royalty terms for the single-beat tiers are set out in the licence contract issued at checkout; see licensing for what each tier covers.

Worth knowing either way: on every non-exclusive tier BE-TWIIN keeps the copyright in the beat, and you own your lyrics, your melody and your recording. The splits on this page are about that recording — your side of it.

This is a calculator, not a contract

It adds percentages and multiplies them by a number you typed. It is not legal advice and it does not register anything anywhere — publishing splits are filed with your publisher or PRO, and master splits with your distributor. Use this to agree the numbers, then put them where they count.
