Releasing
Can I release my song on Spotify and Apple Music?
Yes, with any paid license. Commercial release on Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, TikTok or any other platform requires a paid license — free use is limited to BandLab, SoundCloud and Voloco with credit.
Can I monetize the song on YouTube?
Yes, with a paid license. There is no play or view threshold — a paid license is required from the first upload on any platform other than BandLab, SoundCloud and Voloco.
Can I use a beat on TikTok?
Yes, with a paid license. TikTok is not one of the three free-use platforms.
Can I use one beat for a whole EP?
No — one beat covers one song. For an EP, Full Monetization at $129.95 covers 10 beats — buy 1 beat, get 9 free — which usually costs less than licensing them one at a time.
How far can each license go?
MP3 lease: up to 100,000 streams, 5,000 sales and radio on 1 station. WAV lease: up to 500,000 streams, 10,000 sales and radio on 2 stations. Full Monetization: no limit on any of them. Live shows are fine on every license. Getting close to a limit? Upgrade by paying the difference.
Can I make a music video?
Yes. The MP3 lease covers one video, up to 5 minutes. On the WAV lease or Full Monetization, email me before you shoot more than one and I'll confirm it in writing. Films, TV, ads and video games aren't covered by any lease — ask me first.
Do I have to credit you?
Yes, wherever credits go: “Produced by BE_TWIIN”. Forgot it somewhere? Add it when you can.
Your license
How many songs can I make with one beat?
One. Each license covers one song. Change the tempo, pitch, length or arrangement however you like.
How long does my license last?
10 years. The contract also lets me buy it back within the first 3 years — if I ever did, I'd pay you double what you paid and you'd take the song down.
Can I send the beat to my engineer?
Yes — to anyone working on your song: engineer, musicians, studio. The license stays yours and can't be handed to someone else.
Can I put my song on YouTube Content ID?
No. The beat is already registered with Content ID by me. If your distributor offers YouTube Content ID, leave it switched off for this song — registering it can cancel your license.
What am I not allowed to do?
Five things: sell, upload or give away the beat on its own; pass your license to someone else; register the beat or song with Content ID; register them with the US Copyright Office; or license them to other people as a sample. If something slips, you get 5 business days from my message to fix it.
Royalties
Do I keep 100% of my royalties?
On Full Monetization ($129.95 — buy 1 beat, get 9 free), yes: everything your song earns as a recording — streams, sales, what your distributor pays you — is yours, with no cap. The MP3 lease and WAV lease don't take a cut either, but they stop at a limit (see “How far can each license go?”). Songwriting is the one thing that's shared — next question.
Do I own 100% of the publishing?
No, on any license, Full Monetization included. 50% of the writer's share is yours, 50% is BE-TWIIN's, and BE-TWIIN also holds 50% of the publisher's share. When you register the song with ASCAP, BMI, PRS, SIAE or any other PRO, register your half and list BE-TWIIN for its share — never all of it to yourself.
Who owns the song I make?
Your lyrics and anything you wrote yourself are yours. The beat stays BE-TWIIN's. Under the contract you don't own the master recording of the song either — your license is what lets you release it and earn from it.
Files
Do I receive WAV files?
From the WAV lease ($49.95) upwards. The MP3 lease at $29.95 is MP3 320kbps.
Do I receive stems?
Stems come with Full Monetization and with the Career pack. The single-beat MP3 and WAV leases are mixed files, not separated parts.
Buying
What happens after I buy?
You get an email with download links and your license contract. The files are also on the checkout page immediately after payment. Checkout and delivery are handled by BeatStars at betwiin.beatstars.com.
Is the beat still available to other artists after I license it?
On a non-exclusive license, yes — other artists can license the same beat. An exclusive license (from $500) removes the beat from the store so nobody else can license it.
What is the difference between a lease and an exclusive?
A lease is non-exclusive: you can release your song, and so can other artists who license the same beat. An exclusive takes the beat off the store permanently. Exclusives start at $500.
Can I upgrade my license later?
Yes — pay the difference at any time. Email mgmt@betwiinbeats.com and it is sorted.
What if I don't like the beat after buying?
One free beat switch within 7 days, no questions asked. Digital sales are otherwise final.
Finding beats
How do I find the right beat?
Beat Tinder plays 12-second hooks and lets you keep or pass until you have a shortlist of ten, then shows a breakdown of your taste. You can also browse by artist or genre, or answer seven questions in the guided match.
Do I need to know BPM or key?
No. Beat Tinder lets you react to the music itself, and the guided match asks in plain language about your sound rather than technical values.
Do I have to give my email to browse?
No. Beat Tinder and the guided match both work without an account or an email address. Your shortlist is saved in your browser.
