What each license lets you do.
Short version: any commercial release — Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, TikTok — needs a paid license. Free use is allowed on BandLab, SoundCloud and Voloco with credit. Full Monetization at $129.95 is the only option with no limits — no cap on streams or sales, and 100% of your royalties. The contract issued at checkout on BeatStars is the binding document.

Live shows are fine on every license. “Ask first” means email me before you shoot a second video and I'll confirm it in writing. Films, TV, ads and video games need my permission on any lease.
The rules on every license
- One beat, one song. Change the tempo, pitch, length or arrangement however you like.
- 10 years. Worldwide, and not exclusive — other artists can license the same beat.
- Credit. “Produced by BE_TWIIN”, wherever credits go.
- Share the beat with your team, not the world. Your engineer and musicians can have it. Selling, uploading or giving away the beat on its own is not allowed, and the license can't be passed to someone else.
- No Content ID. The beat is already registered. If your distributor offers YouTube Content ID, leave it off for this song — registering it can cancel your license.
- No copyright registration or sample licensing. Don't register the beat or song with the US Copyright Office, and don't license either to other people as a sample.
Which license do I need to release a song?
Any paid tier lets you record and release a song over the beat. Which one you pick depends on the files your engineer needs and how far you expect the song to go:
- Just need the beat. MP3 lease, $29.95. MP3 320kbps, up to 100,000 streams.
- Your engineer wants better source audio. WAV lease, $49.95. Up to 500,000 streams.
- You want the stems and your full royalties. Full Monetization, $129.95.
- You want the beat taken off the market. Exclusive, from $500.
Royalties
Full Monetization ($129.95) is the full-monetization option: you keep 100% of your royalties, with no cap on streams or sales. The single-beat leases don't pay BE-TWIIN a cut either — they stop at the limits above.
Songwriting is split on every license. 50% of the writer's share is yours; BE-TWIIN holds the other 50% and 50% of the publisher's share. Register it that way with your PRO — never all of it to yourself.
You own your lyrics and anything you wrote yourself. BE-TWIIN keeps the copyright in the beat, and the contract doesn't give you the master recording of the song — it licenses you to release it and earn from it.
Can I use a beat for free?
Only on BandLab, SoundCloud and Voloco, and only with credit. Everywhere else — YouTube, Spotify, Apple Music, TikTok, any other platform — needs a paid license, however many plays you expect. There is no view threshold.
Stems
Stems are the separated parts of the beat — drums, bass, melody — instead of one mixed file. They let a mixing engineer rebalance the instrumental around your vocal. Stems come with Full Monetization and with the Career pack. The single-beat MP3 and WAV leases are mixed files.
Lease vs exclusive
A non-exclusive license (a lease) means other artists can license the same beat. An exclusive removes the beat from the store so nobody else can license it after you. Exclusives start at $500.
Upgrading later
You can move to a higher tier at any time by paying the difference. Email mgmt@betwiinbeats.com and it's sorted.
