What to say, without sounding desperate.
Most artists know they should reach out and freeze at the message itself — so they send nothing, or they send a link with no words attached. Three scripts, filled in with the actual names.
Scripts
The rule these depend on
Social media is a cocktail party, not a billboard. You would not walk into a party, stand on a table and shout at the room — and dropping "🔥 check my link" in a stranger's comments is the same move. Nobody clicks those. Worse, people actively dislike them, which costs you the person you were trying to reach.
So do something first. Leave a comment that shows you actually listened — not "fire", something specific about the second bar. Support artists at your level. Then the message below is a follow-up to a conversation rather than a favour asked of a stranger, and it reads completely differently on the other end.
Ten good ones beat a hundred copies
These are scripts, not a mail merge. The name goes in because you know whose it is; if you are sending the same message to two hundred people who have never heard of you, the script is not the problem. Ten people who reply are worth more than two hundred who report you.
The full argument, and the rest of it, is inTHE FIRST 100 — free to read, no email needed. When you have something to send them, the content plan covers what to post around it.
